On Being Adopted

Many years ago on a Saturday I went to the local SPCA and adopted a new kitten. After looking at all the cats there, I decided on a short-haired blue male kitten only 3 months old. I opted for a kitten as I didn’t want the new cat to beat up on my little Parker. I paid my adoption fees but had to leave Little Wacko (yes that’s his REAL name) there until the following Monday so he could get neutered. A whole weekend without my new kitty, I was sad, but in love. He had captured my heart in a way no other cat has or will. I couldn't wait to pick him up.
Isn’t it so amazing how Father teaches us about Himself through the little everyday things in our lives?
1- God knows me enough to know who to bring into my life. He has looked over all the people on earth and hand-picked the best ones just for me.
2- For God, I was love at first sight. I capture His heart in a way that no one else on this whole entire planet can or ever will.
3- He paid a price to adopt me and bring me home with Him- I am now His.
4- He created a safe space for me to "play" and so He can watch over me.
5- He "neutered" my heart; my heart is no longer a sin making machine.
It brought my heart so much joy to watch my Little Wacko running around, trying to jump onto my bed, and cautiously investigate his new home. I can only imagine Father has as much, if not more, joy watching over me.
Love Always,
Coach Jennifer
