Dreams Never Die!

Many years ago on a Wednesday I went to my weekly Mary Kay meeting and twice during the meeting I was asked, “What are your dreams and goals; what was I looking forward to?” I responded working for myself. But the question dug into my soul and made me question myself, “WHAT am I looking forward to?” and “WHAT are my dreams and goals?"
It’s all but a faint memory to me: something about helping women live better lives, encouraging married people in having more successful marriages… strengthening family bonds… somewhere along the way I let my dreams die… probably due to unbelief and Egyptian-sized pyramids of disappointment- what can I say I’m human.
But God doesn’t forget, and He, in His grace, was kind enough to remind me:
During the semester of grad school that I was taking the Group Counseling class I shared with my group that as a life coach something I would like to teach women about is the principle of “husband before children”, a friend of mine who was part of the group reminded me of my “name”: Fire Starter. I have prayed a many of times for God to make me His fire starter, and in Group Counseling it was confirmed by 8 people who never knew I prayed for that. They saw the fire starter a/k/a God in me.
My friend said I’m the right one to go start THAT fire in spite of all the obstacles I will encounter.
I have no idea where this Mary Kay venture will go, I see it as an open door into my dreams, a door into women’s’ lives, a door to encouraging and building women into the lovely people Father created them to be.
What dreams have you forgotten or shoved aside due to disappoinments or the busy-ness of life? Do you dare to ask God to revive them?
Dear God, please help us to remember the dreams you have given us to dream as they are gifts from your loving hand and a glimpse into Your loving heart for us.
Love Always,
Coach Jennifer
